If you were to know ANYTHING about me, the one thing I would want you to know most of all is that I am a child of God.
At the age of four years old, I knew that if I were to die I would go to hell. I knew even then that I needed to do something to avoid that eternal destination. My mom led me through verses that explained that I was a sinner.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."
Everyone has done wrong and sinned and God cannot allow sin in His presence. Because of that sin, we were cursed to die and be forever separated from God.
"For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Fortunately it doesn't end there!
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
God paved a way for our sin to be forever forgiven past, present and future. He sent His son, Jesus, to die and pay the penalty for our sin as only a perfect sinless sacrifice could.
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved."
All that is necessary to become a child of God is belief in His Word - the Bible and the promise of Christ's death and resurrection.
"Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures"
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Now Jesus lives in heaven and is waiting for the time when those who believe will join Him and live for eternity with Him.
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.If you had known me, you would have known my Father also." John 14: 1-3
After my mom had explained these things to me (in a four-year-old way of doing so!), I knew what I needed to do. I remember clearly the night that I became a child of God. Because of Him, and His promise of salvation through belief, my life was forever changed. If you have questions, PLEASE feel free to contact me! I would be more than willing to answer your questions.
